possibly not as tough
as they'd like us to think

with the puckering tartness
of biased remarks
calculating "Whats!" plus "What ifs?"

signing ourselves into military prisons
by the millions accused of childlike fragility
like secretly live-streamed effete flip-
flopping wimpy "white-handy Miss
Nancy" pansies scissoring
up folded pieces of tight security

unbeholding to behavioral decencies
via conspiracy theories
while complaining of ill treatment
and tending to seem pretty aggrieved

whipped into apolitical strategies
treated poorly with frequency
being denied luxuries on the verge
of disappearing repeatedly
crying, " Believe Me, Believe Me
Believe Me, Please Believe Me!!!"...
